Agawam City Council approves capital plan, solar leases, DPW accord.

Agawam City Council unanimously approves five-year capital plan and solar projects. The body voted 11-0 to adopt the Fiscal Year 2027 to Fiscal Year 2031 Capital Improvement Plan and separately approved two resolutions authorizing Mayor Johnson to enter lease and power purchase agreements with Solect Energy Development LLC for solar generation at six municipal facilities. The council also unanimously appropriated funds for the Department of Public Works Employees' Association collective bargaining agreement and voted to approve the Western Hampden District Veterans Services Inter-Municipal Agreement with four neighboring towns.

A public hearing on the Fiscal Year 2027 Operating Budget was set for June 1.
