Agawam City Council approves three Class 2 dealer licenses in first meeting under President Anthony Russo. The council voted unanimously (10 yes, 0 no, one absent) to renew or grant licenses to Freedom Motor Group at 825 Springfield Street, Paul J. LaPointe d/b/a The Car Connection at 820 Springfield Street in Feeding Hills, and V&F Auto at 7 Harding Street.
Vice Chair Dino Mercadante of the Administrative Committee provided positive recommendations on all three. In new business, Mayor Johnson's resolution accepting a $115,879 911 Support and Incentive Grant for the Agawam Police Department was referred to the Finance Committee, along with four other resolutions and an ordinance regarding domestic partnerships sponsored by Councilor Thomas D. Hendrickson.
