Agawam Beautification Committee votes to abandon new Town Hall plantings while advancing its barrel program. The five-member committee voted unanimously to weed and remulch Town Hall's back area without new plantings, citing lack of water supply and past failures from salt damage during winter snow removal. DPW Superintendent Mazza confirmed no water source exists at the back of Town Hall.
The committee reported 84 sponsors for its flower barrel program, fielded a new request from St. John's Church for barrel placement, and scheduled a Saturday work session to adjust sponsor signs on existing barrels.
