Agawam City Council unanimously approves three budgetary transfers totaling $234,906. The council voted 11-0 to move $50,000 from reserves to cover an electricity and heat shortage caused by the cold winter, $171,000 from reserves to solar purchase funding (which Finance Committee Chair Dino Mercadante noted generates fifteen percent revenue), and $13,906 from temporary funds to postage and printing for voter notice cards and street listing books. The council also voted 11-0 to advance the first reading of an ordinance adding an alternate member to the License Commission.
The Fiscal Year 2027 Annual Operating Budget was tabled to June 15 with no public comment received.
