Conservation Commission continues pond management hearing, amends storage order

Conservation Commission · Meeting of January 22, 2026

AGAWAM — Conservation Commission continued a public hearing on Stillbrook Park pond management and unanimously amended an Order of Conditions. The pond plan, presented by Solitude and Goddard Consulting on behalf of the Town of Agawam, would deploy herbicides and algaecides beginning in April on a five-year cycle to control nuisance vegetation; the Commission deferred final action and noted that an aeration system installed this year violated the prior Order of Conditions. Separately, the Commission approved expanding compensatory storage for applicant Sergey Nakhabenko from 55 to 499 cubic yards at 56 Forest Ridge Lane to support potential future construction without repeated disturbance of the site.

All votes were unanimous.
