AGAWAM — Conservation Commission closes hearing on Adams Street Culvert work. The Agawam Conservation Commission issued an Order of Conditions for the Adams Street Culvert project, requiring a sequential and dewatering plan for work that will replace an existing eight-foot culvert with a nineteen-foot channel to reduce flooding on the north side of Adams Street. Chair Henry A.

Kozloski oversaw the hearing, where engineer R.J. Dowling of Woodard & Curran explained that the replacement will lower water surface elevation and flow velocity through a hydraulic study-supported approach. The road closure is estimated at four to six months.

The Commission also continued hearings on the Charlie's Garden Park resource area delineation and the O'Malley property Notice of Intent to September 10.
