Agawam Housing Committee pursues new zoning ordinances to unlock residential housing development. The four-member committee met June 8 to address member Vincenzo Ronghi's concern about the committee's lack of concrete progress. Ronghi raised specific obstacles: residential zoning surrounding the Business zone has complicated approvals for zoning changes, and undersized infill lots present additional development barriers.

The committee committed to Phase One research on town-owned lots and agreed to review two proposed ordinances at its next meeting, with Ronghi to submit ordinance drafts to City Council by August. The April meeting minutes were tabled; scheduled discussions on housing production goals, municipal housing trust, and Chapter 40R were deferred.
