Planning Board backs $950K block grant, approves three subdivision waivers

AGAWAM — Planning Board unanimously backs $950K federal block grant for infrastructure work. Vice Chair Frank DeStefano and members Mike Cleavall and Michael DiLullo approved a Community Development Block Grant application to fund phase one construction on Moore and Valley Streets, design already complete, construction to begin in June, after hearing from Pioneer Valley Planning Commission's Erica Johnson. In separate action, the board unanimously approved a Definitive Plan for Calabrese Construction, LLC's three-duplex project at Old River Street, 27 Walnut Street, and 17 High Street, granting three waivers for sidewalk placement, curb radius reduction, and pipe material specifications after confirming Engineering and departmental sign-offs.

The board continued a 7,400-square-foot storage building site plan at 699 Silver Street to April 16 pending Fire Department and Engineering review.
