Zoning Board continues Colemore Street appeal, approves amended Garden Street permit

AGAWAM — Zoning Board of Appeals approves amended special permit for Garden Street commercial addition. The board voted unanimously to grant the revised plan for 223 Garden Street, which increases the proposed addition to 2,500 square feet and adds two overhead doors to the original design; Chair Prouty conditioned approval on filing the amended permit at the Registry of Deeds before construction begins. In a separate unanimous decision, the board granted an appeal by Longbrook Estates Condominium Trust on Building 39, ruling that a legally nonconforming structure status applies after a 10-year period of inaction following a 2008 ZBA decision.
