Zoning Board of Appeals continues Davis variance, schedules site visit on chicken permit.
Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of June 8, 2026
Agawam Zoning Board continues Davis North Street variance and Solokin chicken permit case. Chair Doreen Prouty, Vice Chair Richard Maggi, and Clerk Aldo Mancini heard a variance request for a 1.4-acre non-conforming lot at 0 North Street, where petitioner Joseph Davis seeks to build a 2,500-square-foot home despite frontage deficiency; abutters Douglas and Melissa Nooney opposed on zoning and environmental grounds. For Case 2049, Vadim Solokin of 32 Marlene Drive requested a Special Permit to keep hens; neighbor Fred Perry testified the approximately 40 chickens exceed lot limits, have wandered into his yard, and sickened his dog via waste contamination.
The board scheduled a site inspection for June 9, 2026 at 9:00 a.m., with both hearings continued to June 22.
